Flip Your Care Switch

"How to Deal with Being Snubbed"
Flip Your Care Switch
By: Jenna Ryan - January 2013

If you open your heart to someone with warmth and kindness, and that person doesn’t reciprocate, flip your CARE SWITCH and move on. Don’t let the actions of others turn out your light. Keep shining!

"All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on." ~ Havelock Ellis

It is not your job to turn that person around. You cannot "fix" that person. You don't have enough time--you have enough work to do with your own self!

It's wasted effort to try to gain approval from people who are rejecting you, plus, what's the point? You know who you are inside, and you don't have to let others drain you.

The more quickly you learn to let go, the more energy you have for improving your own life, and sharing your warmth with those who realize your value. In the coming weeks, I will be sharing tactics that will help you to quickly let go of persistent thoughts and concerns using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy methods.

Set a boundary between your emotions and the emotional vibe of those you encounter. Don't soak up all the gunk that comes your way. Some people are negative, hurting or just plain unfriendly. That is not your problem. Remember: You are only responsible for you--and for keeping your emotions intact so you can live an effective life.

So flip your switch when someone reacts negatively to your positivity, or when someone insults you or rejects you. Stay connected to yourself and don't allow their negative vibes to infiltrate your peace and joy. It doesn't have to be difficult. Just kindly think to yourself, "I don't care."
